About Life
When you have a pet—a dog or cat, a little bird, a goldfish, or whatever—you naturally want them to stay healthy. When they are not feeling well or injured, you usually notice it quickly.
Another example. When you see fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers, thriving trees or green grass... it’s pretty obvious that they are healthy, isn’t it?
Most of the time, you can recognize healthy life just by looking at it without anyone having to explain it to you.
Am I, or are people around me healthy?
The Bible talks about life a lot. Actually we could say that life is one of the Bible's main themes.
Jesus Christ said many times that He had come “to give life.” Not only that, He said, “I am the life” (John 14:6), and His disciples called him “the Prince of life” (Acts 3:15).
On the surface, we may desire all kinds of things: we might say, “I want more money”, “I wanna get married”, “I want a promotion” or “I want to buy this, go there, or eat that” etc…
But deep down what are we truly desiring? Are we not longing to live each day excited about life? Are we not longing to live freely, without being afraid of anything, not bound or oppressed by anything? Don't we long to live a meaningful life, full of purpose and love, feeling secure and fulfilled, sharing peace and joy with the people around us?
I want to draw closer to Jesus Christ, who said that He came to give abundant life, and experience that abundant life for myself.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)
