Fruit Bearing Life?
Most trees and plants produce fruit that contains seeds, allowing them to pass on life to the next generation. Among them are fruit trees that bear delicious fruit for us to enjoy. Of course, not all fruit tastes the same—some are sweet and delicious, while others are not. 😊
The Bible often compares us to trees and other plants.
In John 15, Jesus says that He is the true vine, and we are the branches. He teaches that if we believe in Him and remain in His love, our lives will bear abundant fruit.
What kind of fruit is growing on the tree of our lives? Through our words, attitudes, and actions, are we producing genuine love, joy, peace, selfless kindness, unwavering hope, encouraging words that give others strength, wisdom that helps solve problems, and other good fruit? Do the people around us "taste" that fruit and find it good?
If there are good trees and bad trees, which kind of tree would you want to be? Wouldn't you like to bear delicious, life-giving fruit? (I know I would!)
Jesus tells us that the way to bear this kind of genuine, sweet, and nourishing fruit is to remain in Him, the true Vine. John 15 explains this in detail. But what does it actually mean to "remain in Christ"? As you read this passage, what do you think?
